Are you at the club on Sunday? I have made some hessian flags too as accurate as I can research, they would just need resizing on a pc and then printed, word and jpg format I think. The british ones I have still need work using paint on a pc. I have some American ones which I haven't touched. If I can find an unused usb I can put them on that. I also have a copy of the warlord games AWI book I can loan you. And the mollo AWI book, this is carefully stored away as it very hard to get hold of now. And I have painting guides for British, continentals and state troops. These are also word documents.
The American flags can be easy as you just do a state coloured flag and add a slogan. And maybe one of the national flags should you wish. I have every flag for the british regiments who served in America both the kings and regimental flag. You don't need flags for grenadiers, light or guard battalions so that's a possible 10 battalions with no flags. I think 8 for the hessians, both the leibfahne and a kompanienfahen flag, the leibfahne carried by the first company and a kompanienfahen by the remaining 4 companies. Or leave them with no flags as the Americans captured 1 third of them at Trenton And the garrison regiments which were sent may not have taken any flags. Though flags look good in a battalion. Again no flags for the grenadier regiments apart from Von Rall who were raised entirely as a grenadier regiment. I haven't done any of the other German states as it was just Hesse-Kassel I was going to paint.
If anyone does feel like painting several hundred 10mm AWI figures just let me know 😂 With family commitments and working 6 days a week this project has seriously been put back in time. Maybe the next decade 😣
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I have all those references, it is the Warlord Games painting guide flags that I need - they are particularly good and "textured" and unavailable elsewhere (or cost).
Down the page there are links to this guys British and Hessians. I really like his command base vignettes and the 4 figs on a 3 x 3cm base looks good (and fits in with Washington's War, Land of the Free, Might and Reason, British Grenadier). I think I will now be doing units of 12 figs,4 on a 3 x 3cm base, then combine units* to give 20 - 24 man units if needed. It will mean lots of flags, but that can only be a good thing!
* I will thus do two British units with yellow facings, two with blue facings, etc. Combining random Americans even easier.
